Peter W. Kelly, 52

West Sand Lake - Peter W. Kelly, 52, formerly of Grange Road died Wednesday, November 04, 2009, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Robert W. Kelly and Marguerite Therese Chartier Kelly. He had resided on Grange Road in West Sand Lake for many years and attended Averill Park schools.

Peter was a cab driver for Colonie Checker Taxi Company for 10 years.

He loved to spin a good tale, was a true cab driver and enjoyed being with people. He enjoyed music, fishing, brewing beer, the NY Jets and Mets and playing the Irish Tin Whistle.

Survivors include his siblings, Christine (William) Williams of Niskayuna, Karen Kelly of Troy, Michael Kelly of Troy, Mary Francis of Waterford, Marguerite Kelly of Earlton and Lawrence Kelly of Troy; his former wife, Lori Conrad; a step son, Randy Furciniti and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas J. and Robert J. Kelly.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 12 noon at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake and at 12:30 PM at St. Henry's Church in Averill Park with a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Provost , Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM-12 noon.

Interment will be in St. Henry's Cemetery Averill Park.
