Peter C. Hartwell, 59

Wynantskill Peter C. Hartwell, 59, of Douglas Street, died Sunday at Hallmark Nursing Centre Troy, after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Clyde and Mary Galuski Hartwell and husband for 33 years of Noreen L. Southwick Hartwell. He had resided in Troy for 7 years and was raised in Wynantskill and a graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Hartwell was assistant manager of the P&C Food Market in Wynantskill. He was disabled since 1996.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Vietnam Veterans and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Steven P. Hartwell of Wynantskill; two brothers, Robert Hartwell of Clifton Park and Kenneth Hartwell of Pittsfield and his mother-in-law Janet Clancy of Wynantskill.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9:30am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling and Maple Avenues Troy. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8pm.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Hartwell to the Tri-County Council Vietnam Era Veteran's 257 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
