Peter William Barnes, 72

Cushing, TX - Peter William Barnes, 72, of State Highway 204 died suddenly Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Nacogdoches Medical Center Nacogdoches, TX .

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Walter Barnes and Mary Peters Barnes. He resided most of his life in Troy and several years in Glens Falls and Clifton Park. He earned his Bachelor's and Masters degrees from SUNY Albany.

Peter was employed as a private practice social worker in Clifton Park for 10 years retiring in 2010. He was a Marine Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Brazil Barnes; a son, James; two daughters, Colleen and Shannon; a step daughter, Eva; a sister, Patricia Collins, Troy; three grandchildren, Avery, Aiden and Aaron and a nephew and two nieces.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 4-7PM.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
