Olive M. Hull Ranken, 94

Poestenkill Olive M. Hull Ranken, 94, died Wednesday at Northwoods at Troy after a long illness.

Born in Providence, RI she was daughter of the late Ransom and Alice Mae Sawtell Hull and wife of the late Osbert C. Ranken. She was raised in the Albia section of Troy, resided 51 years in Poestenkill and was educated at Troy schools.

Mrs. Ranken was a homemaker and many years ago worked at W.T. Grants, Cluett Peabody & Company and Samaritan Hospital.

She was a member of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy. She had a thrill driving her husband's race car many years ago.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace E. Russo of Cohoes and Alice Mae Moses of Poestenkill; a son, William O. Ranken of Sand Lake; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Peter Kelly, Pastor of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
