Nicholas J. Laiacona, 75

Wynantskill- Nicholas J. Laiacona, 75, of Wynantskill, beloved husband and best friend of Elizabeth (Betty Mamone) Laiacona passed away at The Hospice Inn of St. Peters after a long illness at Albany Medical Center. Nick was born on November 27, 1933 to the late Joseph and Carmela (Virginel) Laiacona.

Nick served with the US Army during the Korean War stationed in Germany. He retired after 40 years as a Teamster working for Valente Gravel which became Clemente and then Callanan. He was an active Member of Teamsters Local 294 retiree club and loved his yearly clam steams there. He just received his 35 year pin as a member of Troy Lodge of Elks #141, enjoyed his Elks club charity dinners and bingo that he worked as well as the golf, bocci and dart leagues that he belonged to. He also enjoyed all the Elks parties he attended over the years and Friday nights with friends. Nick was a member of the East Seniors.

Nick was the proud father of his three children, Cathy (George) Mahserjian of Malta, Kimberly (Alfred) Rigaud of Las Vegas, and Thomas (Patricia) Laiacona of Clifton Park.

Nick leaves behind, his adored grandchildren, Ian and Alexa Mahserjian and Danielle, Celine and Tami Laiacona; wss brother to Angela McTarian of Durham NC, Ann (Roland) Debien of Durham, NC and brother-in-law to Gerri Laiacona. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nick will be missed by his grand-pets, Minnie, Izzy and Troy. He was predeceased by his brother, Samuel Laiacona, sister-in-law, Mavis Laiacona and brother-in-law, Charles McTarian.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 PM.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
