TROY Nelson F. Harbour Jr., 75, of Tibbits Avenue, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Nelson F. Harbour Sr. and Grace (DeLorme) Harbour and husband of Helen J. (Nevin) Harbour. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May of 2007.

He resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Technical Institute in Troy graduating with a degree in Construction Technology.

Mr. Harbour was a construction estimator for Cristo Demolition in Albany for 15 years, retiring last month. Prior to that he worked for Thompson Construction Company in Albany for 25 years.

He was a navy veteran serving on the USS Tanner. Nelson was a member of the 15 Point Hunting Club, an active communicant of Our Lady of Victory parish in Troy, and a volunteer for the Catholic Central High School Alumni Association. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was an excellent cook. Mr. Harbour loved to travel, he was a devoted father and grandfather.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Theresa Gillis (Jim) of Andover, MA, Nelson F. Harbour III (Nancy) of Kirkland WA, Mary Grace Police (Gerard) of Wakefield, MA and Peter J. Harbour of Framingham, MA; a sister, Marian Schermerhorn of Cohoes and his grandchildren, Walter and Kate Gillis and Elizabeth Police. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 - 8 PM. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Harbour to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Upstate New York, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, NY 12206.
