Nazareth Karakouzian

Nazareth Karakouzian, 72

Troy - Nazareth Karakouzian, 72, of Congress Street departed to heaven Saturday, December 2, 2006 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a brief illness.

Born in Aleppo, Syria, he was the son of the late Banos Karakouzian and Lusia Vartanian Karakouzian and husband of Lucy Yaralian Karakouzian.

He had resided in Kuwait from 1973-1985 and in the Troy area since 1985.

Mr. Karakouzian was employed by Latham Autobody and at Marshall's Body Shop in Brunswick.

He was a member of an active member of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church in Troy and a member of the church board. He was a devoted husband, loving and caring father and grandfather. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two sons, Antranig Karageozian (Rita) of Colonie and Steve Karageozian (Lucine) of Troy; a daughter, Caroline Avedissian (Hrayr) of Latham, a brother, Harry Karakouzian of Troy; three sisters, Trvanda Karakouzian of Troy, Seyoud Purzekian of Syria and Lousadsin Gulesserian of Syria; four grandchildren, Natalie and Emma Avedissian and Saro and Lilly Karageozian and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am at Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church 101 Spring Avenue Troy.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
