Mildred A. (Wahl) Lalanne

Troy - Mildred A. Wahl Lalanne, 93, of Viewpoint Drive died Monday, May 15, 2017, at her residence after a brief  illness.

Born in Queens, NY, she was daughter of the late George A. Wahl and Anne Chadsey Wahl and wife of the late Richard D. Lalanne Esq. She had resided on Long Island most of her life and moved to Highpointe in Troy in 1991 and was a graduate of Julia Richman High School and Moon Secretarial School both in New York City. 

Mildred was a secretary for the treasurers office for Hofstra University for 16 years retiring in 1984. Prior to that she worked as a legal secretary for Lehigh Valley Railroad, on Wall Street at Shields & Company and for many years was a homemaker. 

She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and camping.  Mildred was a volunteer for the Nature Conservatory, the Rensselaer County Historical Society and the Samaritan Hospital Corner Shop, the Cancer Society and a member of  Faith Lutheran Church.    

Survivors include her three children, Michele L. Weiss, Brunswick Hills, Jeffrey  (Janet) Lalanne, Pittsburgh and Cynthia (Ed) Campbell, Westbury and two grandchildren, Nancy (Jacob) McBride and Thomas Lalanne. 

The family wishes to thank her special friends, Angie and Melissa and Dr. Gross for his care, guidance and support.  Also thank you to Dr. Sloat at Albany Memorial Wound Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy 
at 3 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017,  with Rev. Randall Patterson, officiating,  followed by calling hours from 3:30-5:30 PM.  A reception will follow at the Country Club of Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mildred A. Lalanne to the Faith Lutheran Church 50 Leversee Road Troy, NY 12182 or the American Red Cross 33 Everett Road Albany, NY 12205.
