Mary Phillips Meissner

Sand Lake- Mary C. Phillips Meissner, 78, of Devoe Drive, died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush after a long illness.
Born in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Phillips and Hazel (Earring) Phillips and wife of the late Francis A. Meissner.
She was raised in Rensselaer and resided in the town of Sand Lake for 50 years and was educated at Rensselaer schools.
Mrs. Meissner was employed many years ago at Huyck Mills in Rensselaer, for over 40 years was a homemaker and also provided child care for many children of Averill Park for 30 years.
She was a member of the Averill Park- Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Church of the Covenant in Averill Park.
She is survived by her children Frank Meissner (Jane) of East Nassau, Judy Coomes (Michael) of Baldwinsville, Keith Meissner (Dolores) of Averill Park, Diane Caldwell (Michael) of Averill Park, Bruce Meissner (Amy) of Averill Park, Eric Meissner of Averill Park, Gary Meissner (Wendy) of Schodack, Terry Meissner (Deborah) of East Nassau and Timmy Meissner (Riann) of Averill Park; a sister-in-law, Edith Meissner of West Sand Lake, 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; her God children, Sue and Ralph Wells and Jean Taber and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Francis A. Meissner and several brother and sisters.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Covenant Route 43 Averill Park with Rev. Richard Neal, Pastor, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
Interment Graceland Cemetery in Delmar.
