Mary F. Lombardo Lanzillo, 91

Cohoes - Mary F. Lombardo Lanzillo, 91, formerly of Elmgrove Avenue Troy died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Eddy Village Green Cohoes after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Dominick A. Lombardo and Maria Stella Verrecchio Lombardo and wife of the late Michael J. Lanzillo. She had resided in Troy all her life and a graduate of St. Mary's School in Troy.

Mrs. Lanzillo worked in a defense plant in Green Island as a plant supervisor during World War II and at Behr-Manning in Watervliet. She later was the hostess, cook and very active in the family restaurant businesses, including Manory's, where she also worked as a cashier and Mario's Theater Restaurant where she was known for her special recipes with 'Mary's specialties' including eggplant and corn fritters and potato salad for family gatherings.

She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush and its Women's Club and the Women's Club at the Country Club of Troy.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Felicia (John) May, Troy and Michaelanne (James) DiBianco, Niskayuna; two sons, Pasquale Lanzillo, Troy and James (Mary Beth) Lanzillo, Valley Falls; two sisters, Julie Crupe, Colonie and Anne Rymanowski, Wynantskill; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jennie Berger and Madeline Suriano, two brothers, Anthony D. and Dominic F. Lombardo and a grandson, John E. Brennan.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church North Greenbush where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum Troy.

The family wishes to thank the loving staffs of Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center and Eddy Village Green and to Dr. Ritchie Parrotta and Dr. Ralph and Linda Carotenuto for their loving care and support.
