Mary (Kellett) Floyd

Brunswick - Mary Kellett Floyd, 82, of Petticoat Lane died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn Albany after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late John J. Kellett and Geraldine Crayon Kellett and wife of the late William S. Floyd. She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Russell Sage College where she earned her Bachelor's degree. 

Mrs. Floyd was employed at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1978 for 17 years in Admissions and Financial Aid. She loved working there with Sharon and friends.  Prior to that she worked at Behr-Manning in the late 50's.   

Her leisure time was spent with the Brunswick Knitting Club and she was an avid reader and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.    

Survivors include her three sons, Barry B. Floyd, Troy, David J (Megan) Floyd, Broadalbin and Paul W. (Jennifer) Floyd, Plymouth, MA; her grandchildren, Conor, Liam, Rhys, Brittany, Lucas, AnnaLise Floyd and Cassie, her adored cat. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 1-2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM with  Rev. John Yanas, officiating.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mary Floyd to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
