Mary L. Miller Colwill , 97

Troy Mary L. Miller Colwill , 97 ,of Grange Road died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Troy after a long illness.

Born in Mifflinville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adam Miller and Minnie (Durlin) Miller and wife of the late John M. Colwill.

She came to this area 70 years ago, living in Lansingburgh, on the East Side for 27 years and in Brunswick most recently and was educated at Berwick High School in Berwick, Pennsylvania and Bloomsburg State Normal School in Pennsylvania earning teacher credits.

Mrs.Colwill was a homemaker. She was a member of Salvation Army, Troy Corp for many years and enjoyed spending time with her family. Among her favorite pastimes were reading Helen Steiner Rice books and creating craft items for her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted children, Shirley Fluewelling (James Sr.), Beverly Stockwell (Harry), Carol Harrington (Robert), Betty Weiss, Linda Kordana (Chester) and Edwin R. Colwill (Judy) all of Troy and John M. Colwill Jr. (Irene) of Valatie; a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Burdick) Colwill of Troy; 28 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Charles W.H. Colwill; granddaughter Sheri Dean and great granddaughter, Ashleigh A. Dean.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00pm at the Faith Lutheran Church 50 Leversee Road Troy with Capt. James Purvis of the Salvation Army Troy Corp, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy Sunday from 4-8pm.

Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Troy Salvation Army Temple 410 River Street Troy, NY 12180.
