Marjorie A. (Aston) MacChesney

June 26, 1923 ~ May 4, 2016 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Troy - Marjorie Aston MacChesney, 92, of Burdett Avenue died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Archie M. Aston and Elsie P. Hassell Aston and wife of the late N. Bosworth 'Boz' MacChesney. She had resided in Troy all her life, moving to Colonie in 1994 and back to Troy 9 years ago.  She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and attended Russell Sage College. 

Marge was a co-founder with her husband, of MacChesney Insurance in Troy now Nicoll and MacChesney, Inc. which in currently operated by their son, Robert.  

She was a member of  Gray Lady USO during World War 2, a former Secretary of the Board of the American Red Cross, and member of the Rensselaer County Junior Museum.  She was a former member of the Junior League of Troy, Troy Women's Club, Rensselaer County Historical Society, Troy Club, Evergreen Country Club and a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Troy.  Marge was an avid golfer and bridge player.     

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Peter) Hughes, Niskayuna; her son Robert B. (Judith) MacChesney, Averill Park; her grandchildren, Scott Allan (Kelly) MacChesney, TX and Shannon MacChesney Hughes, Troy and a great grandchild, Henry Donald MacChesney.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church  State and Third Streets Troy on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 11 AM with Rev. Michael Gorchov, Rector, officiating.

Interment will be in  Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Marjorie A. MacChesney to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Third and State Streets Troy, NY 12180.
