Marjorie J. Marshall Genthner, 100

Troy - Marjorie J. Marshall Genthner, 100, of Burdett Avenue died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center.

Born in Troy, 'Marge' was daughter of the late James W. Marshall and Ada Vandenburgh Marshall and wife of the late Donald B. Genthner. She resided in Troy all her life, for many years on Tibbits Avenue and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Genthner was a secretary for Cluett Peabody & Company in Troy before her marriage and homemaker for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress as well.

She was very active in bazaars and dinners at Christ Church United Methodist in Troy. For many years she was a member of the choir of Trinity Methodist Church on 13th St. in Troy.

Survivors include a son, Robert Genthner of Pittstown, two grandsons, Mark and Scott Shanks and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sara J. Juedes of Wynantskill, four sisters; Mildred Brimmer, Elma DuBois, Ada Sproat, Esther Kruse and a brother, James Marshall.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Nina Nichols, Pastor of Christ Church United Methodist, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8PM.

Interment will be in Memory's Garden Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Marjorie Genthner to Christ Church United Methodist 35 State Street Troy, NY 12180.
