Marion M. (Vielkind) Colaneri

Brunswick - Marion  M. Vielkind Colaneri, 90, of  Clements Drive died Friday, November 14, 2014, at Samaritan Hospital  after a brief  illness.

Born in Troy,  she was daughter of the late William J. Vielkind and Barbara Winkelman Vielkind and wife of the late Alphonsus A.  Colaneri. The 69th anniversary of their wedding would have been the day of her funeral. She was raised in Troy and had resided in Brunswick for the past 49 years.  She was a 1942 graduate of Catholic Central High School. 

Marion was a homemaker.   Her family was her entire life, she loved spending time with them especially her treasured great grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed traveling, going on 22 cruises, and collecting Hummel’s.    

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Colaneri, Brunswick and Marion M. Horton, Brunswick; her grandson Matthew Robert (Jessica) Horton, Scotia; two great grandchildren, Erin and Zachary Horton, Scotia; a sister,  Lorraine Simmons, Latham; her great grand dog, Boomer Horton and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, William L. Vielkind and Edward A. Vielkind and a son-in-law, Robert A. Horton.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 AM at the  funeral home  and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
