Marion Frances (Ruffinen) Bonesteel

Wynantskill - Marion Frances Ruffinen Bonesteel, 91, of St. Jude’s Apartments died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Emil Ruffinen and Frances A. Hart Ruffinen and wife of the late Warren E.  Bonesteel. She was raised in Wynantskill and resided there most of her life and attended Wynantskill schools and Troy High School. 

Mrs. Bonesteel was a homemaker and worked in food service for the Wynantskill School district for 12 years.

She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and a member of the Rosary Altar Society and loved gardening and growing raspberries. 

Survivors include five sons, David (Joanne) Bonesteel, Troy, Robert (Nancy) Bonesteel, Rensselaer, Larry Bonesteel, Wynantskill, Dennis (Colleen) Bonesteel, Troy and Leo (Fran Fernandez) Bonesteel, Poestenkill; a brother, Ronald (Florence)Ruffinen, North Greenbush; four grandchildren, Garry Paul (Allison), Jason (John Flansburg), Alyssa and Olivia Bonesteel; two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Finnegan; two sisters-in-law,  Elsa and Gisela Ruffinen and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Leo Ruffinen.

The family wishes to send special thanks to her caregivers, Karen, Michelle, Debbie, Laurie, Joellen, Sara, Dolores and Robin, the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor A3 and The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.     

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 4-7PM and Wednesday, at St. Jude the Apostle Church  43 Brookside Avenue Wynantskill from 9:30-10:30 prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Rev. Anthony Ligato , Pastor.

Interment will be in  Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Marion Bonesteel to the Rensselaer County Unified Services1600 Sixth Avenue Troy, NY 12180 or St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue Wynantskill, NY 12198.
