Mario P. Spataro, 80

Troy - Mario P. Spataro, 80, of 15th Street died suddenly Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Albany, NY, he was son of the late Carlo Spataro and Rose Villa Spataro and life partner for 47 years of David R. Blair. He was raised in Albany and resided there for 17 years, in Menands for 8 years and later in New York City, Albany and in Troy for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Albany High School, class of 1950.

Mario was employed as a foreman at Thermo Products in Menands for 28 years and worked for 10 years at NYS Office of General Services.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy and an Army veteran of the Korean War stationed in Germany.

Survivors in addition to his life partner include a sister, Pauline Andriano, E. Greenbush; a brother, Dr. Carlo (Sharon) Spataro, Nunica, MI and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Philip and Vincent Spartaro.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 4-7PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mario P. Spataro to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
