Marie F. Casorelli Higgins, 90

Troy - Marie F. Casorelli Higgins, 90, of Heartwood Terrace 15th Street died Saturday, September 15, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Rocco Casorelli and Carmela DeBonis Casorelli and wife of the late Michael J. Higgins. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1941.

Mrs. Higgins was a senior aide at the Troy Public Library delivering books to seniors and at Hope 7 on the East Side.

She was an active volunteer at St. Mary's Church in Troy, the Council on Economic Opportunities, Troy Senior Center and St. Mary's Hospital as an aide.

Survivors include her son, William J. (Anne B. Covell) Higgins, New York City; a grandson, Graham BC Higgins, Scotland; her siblings, Rose A. Seyboth, Troy, Anthony J. Casorelli, Pompano, FL, Josephine Higgins, Orlando, FL and Sally S. Breen, Latham; her caregiver and niece, Rose Marie Cooper, Wynantskill and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Savina Casorelli.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
