Margaret M. (Feeley) Kenny

Averill Park - Margaret M. Kenny, 91, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, after a short illness.

Born in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Feeley and Catherine McNicholas Feeley and wife of the late Emmett John Kenny. She graduated valedictorian of Julia Richman High School in Manhattan and was employed at the Irving Trust Bank on Wall Street. In 1950 she married her beloved husband of 63 years, Emmett. They moved to Virginia for a year. In 1953, they moved to Averill Park and resided there ever since.

As a homemaker, Margaret took pride in her family and she loved nothing more than sharing in their interests and endeavors. For years she managed the family rental property. She was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church and regularly volunteered for school activities. Margaret enjoyed reading, listening to music, gardening, cooking, baking, dancing and traveling.  

Survivors include her children, Patricia (Steve) Empie, Melrose, Maureen (Mark) Delaney, Hinesburg, VT, Irene (Michael) Graven, Owego, John (Elaine) Kenny, Greenwich, Kathleen (Dave) Higley, Canton, CT, Michaelene (Timothy) Kelly, Averill Park; her grandchildren, Nora, Sarah, Aidan, Mairead, Sean, Kayla, Breige, Allison, Laura, Alex, Deaglan and Eamonn; her brother, Brother Francis Feeley, CSC; and her nieces and nephew, Marie Santella, Elizabeth Feeley Daly and Eugene Chiamulera. She was predeceased by her siblings, James Feeley, Agnes Chiamulera and William Feeley. 

The family extends their deep appreciation to the compassionate staffs of Samaritan and Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospitals, Our Lady of Mercy Life Center and Dr. Thorn. We extend our deepest appreciation to Pat and Steve Empie who provided loving care to our mom prior to her passing.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Henry's Church, 39 Old Route 66, Averill Park on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 9:30-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Interment will follow mass in St. Henry's Cemetery, Averill Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Margaret M. Kenny to St. Henry's Church, PO Box 550 Averill Park, NY 12018.
