Troy - Margaret Mary LaVallee Belanger, died Thursday, May 10, 2018. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late John James LaVallee and Margaruite Agnes Hogan and wife for 67 years to the late Charles William Belanger. She had resided in The Terrace Troy since Jan 2017, prior to that resided at Sweetmilk Creek Road Brunswick for 51 years and was a graduate of Cohoes High School 1950.
Mrs. Belanger first worked at the Mohawk Paper Mill, then became the switchboard operator at the Leonard Hospital for almost 4 years. She later went on to be the receptionist at Woodland Village for 10 years where she loved to interact and help the residents who lived there. She was a devoted mother to her three loving children, Mothers Club President 1973, active with the school PTA, enjoyed ceramics and was a devout communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy and her husband, James Eastwood of Brunswick; her brother, Frankie and his wife, Ann Marie LaVallee of Troy; a daughter-in-law, Diane Belanger, Brunswick; her grandchildren, Erin and Brian Freeh, Erica Belanger and Jay Jones, Renee Belanger, Andrea and Chris Denio, Ashlee Wilson, Alea and Steve Amyot, Aaron and Cady Eastwood, Carly and Joseph Belanger and her great grandchildren, James and Catherine Freeh, Augustin and Gaius Jones, Claire and Aliza Denio, Aidan Wilson, Ryleigh Domey and Easton Amyot. She was predeceased by two sons, Craig William Belanger and David Belanger Ph.D. and a brother, James LaVallee.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4-7PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Waterford.
