Lily Akullian, 91

Menands - Lily Akullian, 91, of Brookside Avenue died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, she was daughter of the late Paul Akullian and Marie Balyosian Akullian. She was raised in Egypt and came to the United States at the age of 15 to reside in the Albany and Menands areas for most of her life and was a graduate of Albany High School.

Miss Akullian was employed as a medical insurance billing clerk for St. Peter's Hospital for many years and prior to that worked for Reuben H. Donnelly for several years.

She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Menands for many years.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Nancy Lynch, Marina Del Rey, CA, Evelyn Rupp, Marina Del Rey, CA, Robert (Deb) Abajian, Tampa, FL, Lorraine Martinelli, Aliso Viejo, CA, James S. (Beverly Kerns) Sunukjian, Troy, and Linda S. (Thomas) Mitchell, Troy and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nevart Abajian, Lucy Sunukjian, Chake Akullian, her twin Charles Akullian and Vahan Akullian.

Relatives and friends may call at the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church 520 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday from 10-11:30 AM with a service to follow at 11:30 AM with Rev. Karyl Hopp, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.

The family wishes to thank Matt and Cathy Probst and Greg and Kathy Lanni for their extraordinary loving care as friends and neighbors, Marie Corley, Susan Price and Beverly Kerns for their loving care as well. Thank you also to Dr. Nini Wu of NYOH and the staff of St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
