Leo P. 'Naps' Bourgault , 71

Eagle Mills -Leo P. 'Naps' Bourgault , 71, On February 7, 2014 we sadly said good-bye to Leo "Naps" Bourgault; husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend as he entered into eternal life surrounded by his family at home after braving a long illness. Leo was born in Fitchburg, MA on January 7, 1943, and was son to the late Willie J. and Rose A. (Bolduc) Bourgault and husband of Cheryl (Turner) Bourgault for 37 years.

He earned his Associate's Degree from Becker Junior College and later, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Clark University in 1969. Leo and Cheryl raised their family in Brunswick, NY where he was a Charter Member of the Brunswick Elks B.P.O.E. 2556, Brunswick Little League Board Member and Troy Youth Hockey coach. Leo's employment with Cluett, Peabody and Co. started in Leominster, MA. He relocated to a plant in Pennsylvania then moved to the company's plant on River Street in Troy, NY in 1974. He worked as a production manager and scheduler for the company that manufactured men's shirt collars and then expanded to include men's shirts and other apparel under the Arrow brand name. In 1989 he was transferred to work at the plant in Atlanta, Georgia. Leo returned to Brunswick, NY after his retirement in 1995 to be closer to his family. Leo's retired life was filled with the joy his 11 grandchildren brought, caring for his wife, faithfully following the Boston Red Sox, maintaining his pool for summer swims, and making daily trips to Price Chopper where he could catch someone's ear and chat. He opened his home, "the compound", to many and made it the gathering place for family, where they all got together for Friday night pizza. The Bourgault Bunch, as his family was often nicknamed, was extended to include many close friends that he considered family.

In addition to his wife, Cheryl (Turner) Bourgault, he is survived by his children, Brian Bourgault of Troy, April (Michael) Galipeau of Troy, Steven (Rebecca) Bourgault of Averill Park, Michelle (Thomas) Ring of Troy, Kyle (Nicole) Bourgault of Brunswick and Kurt Bourgault of Poestenkill; his grandchildren, Sam and Cassidy Galipeau, Nate, Harry and Mallory Bourgault, Liam and Alex Ring, Sarah and Luke Bourgault and Brooke and Brealynn Bourgault. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Roland "Navy"(Rita) Brousseau, his nephews, Mark and Gary Brousseau and a niece, Debra (Brousseau) Stewart; his brother-in-law, Alfred "Sonny" (Evelyn) Berube along with his nieces, Diane and Karen and several cousins including Paul Rouleau and Jean DeMartino of Fitchburg, MA. Leo was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa (Berube) Bourgault; brother, Gerard Bourgault and sister, Rita Brousseau of Fitchburg, MA.

A special thank you to all who have provided support to the family over these last months, especially to Marilyn Turcotte-Roarke who has given more than 20 years of devotion to the family's care. We love you all.
