Lawrence (Bill) Girard, 85

Wynantskill - Lawrence (Bill) Girard, 85, of St. John's Terrace Wynantskill died Monday, February 14, 2011.

Born in Cohoes he was the son of the late Lawrence and Bessie Burke Girard. He grew up on the East side and for the past 48 years resided in Wynantskill.

Mr. Girard graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1943 and earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from Siena College in 1950. He was the director of Computer Systems Development and Operations for the New York State Department of Civil Service until his retirement in 1986.

He was a Veteran of World War II serving as a 1^st Lieutenant in the 8^th Air Force, flying as a navigator on a B-24 Bomber on combat missions over Germany with the 467^th bomb group.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Stewart Girard; a daughter, Kim Findeisen of Rutland Town, VT; a son, William (Tracy) Girard of East Greenbush; and a granddaughter, Courtney Findeisen.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday May 11 meeting at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy at 10AM for an 11AM service at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery
