Kenneth M. Murray

Kenneth M. Murray, 63 Melrose Kenneth M. Murray, 63, of Doty Avenue, died Monday at his residence after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was son of the late George and Martha J. Castle Murray and husband of Carolyn E. Rose Murray. He had resided in Melrose for the past 40 years and was a graduate of Troy High School. Mr. Murray was a truck driver for China Grove for the past 8 years and formerly for Grand Union and Getty for several years. He was a member of the Melrose Fire Company since 1962 and its Chief from 1973-78 and a life member and also a life member of the Grafton Trail Riders. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons Kenneth R. Murray Sr. and wife Grace of Melrose and John D. Murray of Virginia Beach; two sisters Dorothy M. Ritrovato of Troy and Marjorie A. Jones and husband Irving of Brunswick; a brother William T. Murray and wife Carol of Melrose; a sister-in-law Helen Murray of Troy; two grandchildren Kenneth R. Murray Jr. and Brittany Ann Murray both of Melrose and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers George, Robert and Donald Murray. A Memorial service will be held Thursday at 6:00pm at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy with Rev. Gaylord Campbell, Pastor of the Tomhannock United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-6pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Murray to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144 or the Grafton Trail Riders or Melrose Fire Company.
