Karen L. (Bump) Julian

Troy - Karen L. Bump Julian, 77, of Grant Avenue died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Harley E. Bump Jr. and Norma M. O'Brien Bump. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of the Mary Warren Free Institute school for girls and Troy High School class of 1958. 

Karen worked for Rensselaer County for 21 years in several offices including Mental Health and more recently the Department of Social Services retiring in 2013 as a case worker.

She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy, a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Palestine Star #167 and Past President of South Troy Little League.   Karen taught ceramics and children's classes of needlework and artwork out of her home. 

Survivors include her children, Keith M. Spiak, Averill Park, Kellie (Carl) Campbell-Bacchus, Cohoes, Laurie (Albert) Palmer, Troy,  L. Christopher (Donna) Julian, Wynantskill, Casey Mancinelli, Watervliet and Weston (Michele) Julian, Alpharetta, GA; two brothers, Wayne H. (Mary) Bump, Averill Park and Ronald J. Bump, Troy; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church 146 First Street Troy with Rev. Stephen Schlossberg, Rector, officiating.

Interment will be in  Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
