Julia L. (Snyder) Rhodes

Poestenkill - Julia L. Snyder Rhodes of Blue Factory Road passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Peter Snyder and Mary Kalatasky Snyder.  She was the wife of N. Robert Rhodes for 61 years. She had resided in Poestenkill all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Julia was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park.    

In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Debra A. (Marco) Shafer, Poestenkill and Lynda J. Baldwin, Wynantskill; a son, Robert A. (Evy King) Rhodes, West Sand Lake; four grandchildren, Steven and Brianna Baldwin and Christopher and Robert J. Rhodes and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant son, Daniel N. Rhodes and her siblings, John Snyder, Stella Catone, Mary Saniski, Bruno Snyder, Katherine Timber, Rose Hoffman, Ann Lebentritt, Peter Snyder and Helen DeCelle.

The funeral service was private at the request of the family and interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.

The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Lisa Thorn, The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County and the volunteers from the Eddy Care Team Program at St. Henry's for their kindness and support.
