Judith Naydene (Oliver) Dobert, 67

Averill Park - Judith Naydene (Oliver) Dobert, 67, of Huntley Road, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008, at her residence.

Born in Troy on June 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Howard M. Oliver and Mintha M. (Rich) Oliver and wife of Warren H. Dobert for 45 years.

Judy was a 1958 graduate of Averill Park High School. She was employed by Kaiser-Fowler Opticians, NYS Dept. of Corrections and NYS Dept. of Veteran's Affairs for several years. For 32 years she was self-employed with family child care in her home, caring for 110 children before retiring in 1999.

She was an active lifelong member of Church of the Covenant United Methodist in Averill Park. Over the years, she had been a member of the Jr. and Sr. choirs and had served on the missions, finance, altar and lay deacons committees. She was also a member of the prayer group, prayer chain and GOOFS.

She taught Sunday School for many years and was Prayer Partner to the youngest children for the past nine years. Judy enjoyed caring for her family and home, reading, gardening and sewing/quilting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children, step-daughter, Barbara A. Iverson, and son-in-law, Gary D. Iverson of Everett, WA; daughter, Elizabeth J. Dobert, and son, Richter C. Dobert both of Averill Park. She is also survived by her siblings, Virginia L. (Eldon) Snyder of Buffalo, Donald M. Oliver of Averill Park, Carolyn O. Nash of Cicero, and Jane M. Weber of Taborton; and a plethora of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, H. Douglas Oliver and her sister, Ethel L. Hellum.

Judy gives thanks for the loving care of her family, COC family and dear friends.

A memorial service celebrating Judy's life will be held Tuesday, June 3rd at 6PM at Church of the Covenant UM in Averill Park with Pastors Merry Watters, Eldon Snyder and Gary Dickson, officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill.
