Troy - Joyce M. Burdick Colwill, 73, formerly of Fifth Avenue North Troy died Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a long illness.
Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late Samuel J. Burdick and Helen Jarvis Burdick and husband of the late Charles W. H. Colwill. She had resided in most of her life in Troy and was a graduate of Troy Public School 16, Troy High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
Mrs. Colwill was employed as a systems accountant for the Watervliet Arsenal.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Troy.
Survivors include a son, Bryant C. (Sarah) Colwill, Wynantskill; a sister, Margaret Elizabeth Dayter, Spencer, NY; her grandchildren, David Charles (Rachael) Dean, Troy and Shannon and Ethan Colwill, Wynantskill and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheri Dean, Troy and a granddaughter, Ashleigh Joycelynne Dean; two brothers, Samuel J. Burdick and Martin G. Burdick.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-7PM.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
