Condolences to the family. Jamie O'Boyle and I were saddened to learn of Joy's passing, as we hadn't seen her in years. Her circle of friends in Philadelphia will miss her! Sorry we couldn't be at the "closing ceremony" of her life.

To Michael, Jolie and their families,
For many years, I sat either in the same extended pew or the one just behind your mother at St. Mark's Locust Street. I also was an avid reader of her blog and greatly enjoyed her sometimes irreverent, often profane but nearly always keen observations on people, politics, social mores... in general, life. She was a remarkable woman with convictions and opinions that I often found compelling and thought provoking. She also possessed a wry sense of humor that I greatly enjoyed. So I am sorry for your loss and share in your grief, for I shall really miss her presence. May she rise in glory and rest in peace, and may the thoughts and prayers of all who knew her join together to sustain you at this time.
