Joseph W. Wright, Jr.

Troy - Joseph W. Wright, Jr., 83, died Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Andes, NY, he was son of the late Joseph W. Wright, Sr. and Beatrice Fuller Wright and husband of the late Joyce M. Dyer Wright. He was raised in Andes and Davenport, NY and resided in Niverville for most of his life and was a graduate of Charlotte Valley High School in Davenport. 

Joseph was employed as an independent truck driver for many years.

He was a member of Kinderhook Lodge of Elks and AMVETS Nassau Chapter and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. 

Survivors include his children, Rick (Kathy) Wright, West Sand Lake, Jayne (Hank) Schweikert, Mechanicville, Jim Wright, East Chatham, Tom Wright, Palm Coast, FL and Glen Wright, Schodack; his siblings, Ralph Wright, Chatham, Evelyn Lawing, Orlando, Kay (Doris) Wright, Campbellton, FL and Karen Wright, Orlando; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life which will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1-6PM at the Chandler Young VFW Post 8162, 7 Lyons Lake Road, Nassau, NY 12123 with a veterans memorial service to be held at 2PM.
