Joseph B. Staubach , 81

Troy Joseph B. Staubach , 81 ,of Sherman Avenue Troy died Monday, July 19, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a long illness.

Born in Haverstraw, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph Staubach and Helen (Kohberg) Staubach and husband for 62 years of Margaret Gibbons Staubach.

He had resided in Rockland County, East Berne and when retired, lived in Pottersville, NY in the summer and in Rio Hondo, Texas in the winter.

Mr. Staubach was employed as a carpenter and millwright for carpenters union Local 370 Albany for 50 years.

He served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and British Military Medal for gallantry in action.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Margaret (Dean) Courter of Troy and Helen Marsh of Tampa, FL; a son, Joseph Staubach of Troy; 4 grandsons, a granddaughter and 5 great grandsons.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 3-5pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday, at 5:00 PM following the visiting hours.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Staubach to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144 or the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Loudonville, NY 12211.
