Joseph Z. Rondeau, 85

North Greenbush - Joseph Z. Rondeau, 85,of North Greenbush, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at his residence after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Minnie Rondeau and beloved husband of Germaine Y. Belanger Rondeau for 57 years.

He was raised and educated in Lebanon, NH and had resided in Wynantskill since 1962.

Mr. Rondeau was a crane operator at the Watervliet Arsenal for 18 years retiring in 1974.

He was a member of American Legion in Wynantskill, Troy Lodge of Elks, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veteran's and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea and was stationed in Sicley, Italy, Africa and Southern France. During World War II, he was on the USS Elizabeth C. Stanton, and earned 4 battle stars. He loved the outdoors, fishing, skiing and hunting.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his devoted daughter, Lynn M. Rondeau of Fairfield, CT. He was also survived by loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. His kind and caring spirit will be missed by all who loved him. He was predeceased by a brother, Ephrem Rondeau and a sister, Katherine Bomhower.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Salvatore Rodino, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-7pm. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford.
