Troy - Joseph Daniel Mulcahy, 86, of Burdett Avenue Troy died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Patrick J. Mulcahy and Elizabeth Nash Mulcahy and husband of the late Mary Barsalow Mulcahy. He was raised on Third Street in Troy and resided many years in Brunswick and was a graduate of Veteran's Vocational School at Troy High School class of 1948.
Mr. Mulcahy was a machinist for the Watervliet Arsenal and formerly employed at International Harvester in Menands for many years.
He was a member of the YMCA of Albany and East Greenbush and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Patrick T. (Patty) Mulcahy, Wynantskill; two grandchildren, Seann P. Mulcahy, Providence, RI and Tara K. Mulcahy, Atlanta, GA; a nephew, Daniel Mulcahy and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Mulcahy and a sister, Mary McKeever.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.
Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
