Joseph G. Fleming, 85

Poestenkill Joseph G. Fleming, 85, formerly of Route 351, died Sunday at Schuyler Ridge Health Care Clifton Park, after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late William James and Eunice Hoffay Fleming and husband of the late Mildred Miller Fleming. He had resided in Poestenkill since 1946.

Mr. Fleming was a routeman for Freihofer Baking Company in Troy for over 30 years retiring 20 years ago.

He was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park, a member of the Sullivan- Jones Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #7466 Poestenkill, Poestenkill Ambulance and the Poestenkill Fire Company and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his son, Harry W. Fleming (Carol) of Clifton Park; two grandchildren, Cari Fleming of New York City and Joseph G. Fleming II (Abbe) of Monroe, NJ; four great grandchildren, Ryan, Heather, Ashley and Connor; a brother, David Fleming of Hoosick Falls; a sister, Esther Quinlan of Watervliet and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and six sisters John and William Fleming and Eunice Allen, Mary VanderWerken, Ida Fleming, Ruth Smith, Martha Romp and Grace Mayer.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake and at 10:30am from St. Henry's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-7pm. Interment Elmwood Cemetery in West Sand Lake.
