Joseph Akulliian

Colonie - Joseph Akullian, 93, of Newcomb Drive died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bedros Akullian and husband of the late Effie Krikorian Akullian. He was raised in Troy and resided in Colonie for many years. 

Mr. Akullian was a meat cutter for Price Chopper for 35 years many years ago.  

He was an active member of St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet, an accomplished violin player and New York State Yo-Yo champion many years ago.  He enjoyed traveling.    

Survivors include his brothers-in-law, Roston Krokorian, Krikor Krikorian and Bedros Krikorian and their children in Greece and several friends, Paul DerOhannesian, Esq., Dr. Ara Kayayan and Kevin and Susan DeSeve. 

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian, officiating.

Interment will be in  Albany Rural Cemetery Menands.
