Troy - John ‘Jack’ M. Robb, 86, of 24th Street died Monday, January 18, 2016 after a long illness.
Born in New York City, he was son of the late John M. Robb and Eva Catherine Robb Robb and husband for 58 years of Dolores J. Riddell Robb. John was raised in New York City and resided in Troy since college in 1945 and was a graduate of Suffield Academy in CT, and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
John was an engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation for 37 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member, Elder and treasurer of the Third Presbyterian Church in Troy and was an avid golfer and NY Mets fan. He was a Marine Corps and Navy veteran during the Korean War serving as a jet pilot.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his 2 sons, John M. (Cindy) Robb, Delmar and Kenneth W. (Andrea) Robb, Troy and his 3 grandchildren, Angela, Kevin and Scott Meislin. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas S. Robb and his sister, Ruth Ivy Dodge.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday January 20, 2016 from 4-7 PM with a funeral service at 7PM with Rev. John McAuley, officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
