John Warren Willson, 92

Wynantskill - John Warren Willson, 92, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 following a short illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Richard Willson and Mary Barringer Willson and husband for 63 years of Helen Ramroth Willson. He resided the past 56 years in Wynantskill and was a graduate of St. Francis School, Troy Public School 14, Catholic Central High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from Siena College.

Warren was a clerk for the US Postal Service at the Troy Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1984 and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Warren was a loving husband who unselfishly cared for his wife for many years. He was an active communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. Warren enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading, gardening and many years of traveling with his wife, family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Marie Ference, Buffalo, Nancy (Eric) Jackson, CT and Susan (Mike) Barth, Glenmont; 7 grandchildren, Beth (Brian) Bacon, Erin Jackson, Amy, Laura and Joseph Ference and Dan and Drew Barth; a sister, Mary Welch, Eagle Mills and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, James and Charles Willson and a sister, Helen Watson.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor.

Interment will be at 12:30PM Monday at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
