John H. Hover, 64

Poestenkill - John H. Hover, 64, of Plank Road died suddenly Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after being involved in an automobile accident.

Born in Teaneck, NJ, he was son of Howard Hover of NC and the late Alice L. Twomey Hover and husband of Georgia Skarzynski Hover. John was raised in Germantown and had resided in Poestenkill for the past 8 years.

John was a foreman for Collins Lumber in Troy.

He was a Marine Corps Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and in the Army Reserve. He enjoyed collecting knives.

Survivors in addition to his wife and father include his children, Denny Lee Hover, Lynette Marie Hover, both of Valatie; his stepsons Timothy Edward and Thaddeous Thomas Hasbrouck, Phoenicia; his grandchildren, Alex and Ella Hasbrouck, Austin Newcomb, Haley Hasbrouck, Alaina, Marissa, Sean and Rebecca Brogan; his sisters, Kathy Terk, Maureen Bower, Patricia Eisenhandler, Alice DeJalil; his brothers, Howard, Kevin, and Timothy Hover; his aunt, Florence Amsler; his nieces and nephews, Kayla Hall, Kayla Hasbrouck, Robbie Hasbrouck, Crystal Hall, Dustin Hall, Kimberly Hasbrouck, Dawn Stockdale, Cassie Phelan, Cassie Phelan, Andrea Bidwell, Shawn, Lisa, Kierstyn Earing, and JJ Skarzynski; and his great niece, Riley Peer. He was predeceased his son, Devin J. Hover, who passed away on Sunday September 15, 2013.

A funeral service that will celebrate the lives of both John and his son, Devin will be held TODAY at 11AM at the Third Presbyterian Church 113 Winter Street Troy with Rev. John McAuley, Pastor, officiating.
