Jesse T. Rockenstire Jr.

Averill Park Jesse T. Rockenstire Jr., 76, of Rabie Road, died suddenly Thursday at his residence.

Born in Latham, he was son of the late Jesse T. Rockenstire Sr. and Edith Whitbeck Rockenstire and husband of Rita M. Goodness Rockenstire. He was raised in Latham and had resided in Averill Park for the past 30 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Cohoes High School.

Mr. Rockenstire was a construction worker for Local 190 in Albany for 18 years and most recently worked in security for Command Security Inc. in Ballston Spa for the past 12 years. Many years ago he worked at Guptill's Arena in Latham where he met his wife of 30 years.

He was a member of the Open Bible Baptist Church in Rensselaer and he formerly held his pilots and truckers licenses.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Patricia A. Rockenstire of North Greenbush; two sons, Jesse T. Rockenstire III of Averill Park and Michael J. ( Brenda) Rockenstire of Averill Park; two grandchildren, Cody J. Rockenstire and Michael J. Rockenstire Jr.; two nieces, Diane M. Newell of Halfmoon and Dawn M. West of Mechanicville and several additional nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Harriet M. West.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 12:30pm from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. Glen Hamilton, Pastor of the Open Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10- 12:30pm prior to the service. Interment Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
