Lake George- Jean R. Sliter, 73, formerly of Loudonville, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls.
Born in Green Island, she was the daughter of the late George Rysedorph and Mildred (Claussens) Rysedorph and wife for 53 years of Herbert Alan Sliter.
She was raised in Green Island, resided for 37 years in North Greenbush, 10 years in Loudonville and the past 6 years at Lake George and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.
Mrs. Sliter was a domestic engineer and worked at Cluett, Peabody & Company, Sliter Confectionery and a Belltop School as a teachers aid.
She was active in the summer at Diamond Point Community Church where she arranged the altar flowers and window sill decorations.
Survivors in addition to her husband include four daughters, Dorinda Jean Scovill (Ernest) of Florida, Jane Marist Schreiner (Dean Egon) of Florida, Kim Lisa Clark (Robert) of Albany and Lois Charlotte Langley (Keith) of Rensselaer; her sister, Marist Schlutow of Green Island; seven grandchildren, Lorinda Armstrong, Jennifer Kramer (Bob), Monica Clark, Morgan Schreiner, Vanessa Clark and Brittany and Bradford Langley; a great grandson, Connor Brimmer; two sisters-in-law, Rose Sliter of Arizona and Jane Gorzelnik of Loudonville; a brother and sister -in-law, John and Sue Sliter of Mt. Prospect, IL; 16 nieces and nephews and 32 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 10:15 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church 1 Maria Drive Loudonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Peter Young.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
Interment Bloomingrove Cemetery in Defreestville.
