Janet Fostner McMann, 72

Brunswick- Janet Fostner McMann, 72,of Grange Road died Friday, September 29, 2006 at her residence after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Washington, DC, on October 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Fostner and the late Anna (Flynn) Fostner and wife for 42 years of George E. McMann.

She had resided in Brunswick for the past 42 years and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1951.

Janet was the principal stenographer under Arthur Levitt, New York State Comptroller for the Department of Audit and Control. She left to raise her family and later was employed at Hudson Valley Community College for the Liberal Arts Department chairman retiring in 1990.

Janet was a very active Communicant of Our Lady of Victory and the Prayer Group of the church and a member of the Troy Ladies of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians in Troy. She enjoyed travelling and her family.

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband include three sons, Michael William McMann (Kim) of Stephentown, Joseph George McMann of Brunswick and Daniel Patrick McMann (Jennifer) of New Baltimore: her mother-in-law, Jane McMann of Troy; her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward McCarthy of Wynantskill and Carol McMann Turner and Stanley Turner of West Sand Lake; two grandchildren, Joseph Michael McMann and Madeline Barbara McMann and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Ann McCarthy.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8:00 PM.

Interment Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
