Brunswick - Jane ‘Jamie’ Parkes, 78, of Brunswick Road died Thursday, December 10, 2015, at her home after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late James Murdock and Mary Watson Murdock and wife for 58 years of John E. Parkes. She resided in Troy all of her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Jamie was a homemaker and attended to clerical duties for the family business, Parkes Service Company.
Jamie was an avid golfer and member of the Frear Park League and the Par Tee Girls. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and decorating her home and was an enthusiastic fan of girls Brunswick and Tamarac basketball. Jamie was always fond of attending her families' motorcycle events and caring for her cats.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, John M. (Julie) Parkes, Melanie Parkes, both of Troy; her 3 granddaughters, Crystal (Michael) Staccio, Valerie and Cheryl Parkes, all of Troy; her very cherished great granddaughter, Alaina Staccio, of Troy; her sister, Joan Chevy, of Colonie; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Murdock.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 4 - 7PM prior to the service at 7PM with Rev. Gaylord ‘Jake’ Campbell, officiating.
