Jane Betty Simpson Holdridge, 74

Rensselaer Jane Betty Simpson Holdridge, 74, died Friday at Samaritan Hospital Troy after a long illness.

Born in Coxsackie, NY she was daughter of the late Clyde and Beatrice Hoose Simpson and wife of the late Roger H. Holdridge. She had resided in Catskill most of her life and this past summer moved to this area to be with her daughter.

Mrs. Holdridge was employed as manager of the bufeteria at Montgomery Ward in Menands many years ago and later worked with her mother in Bea's Diner on Route 9 in Schodack. She was a homemaker for many years.

Survivors include her daughter Doris Goggins and husband William; three sisters Sally Peloubet of Bluefield, WV, Daryl Williams and husband Fran of West Coxsackie and Norma Reaser and husband David of Carolina; two brothers William and Jack Wernig; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son David Roger Holdridge and a brother Clyde Simpson Jr.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake with Rev. C. Joseph Ingraham, Pastor Emeritus of Christ Church United Methodist, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8pm.

Interment Tuesday at 10am in Jefferson Rural Cemetery in Catskill.
