Jane Gale

Troy - Jane Gale, daughter of Mary Louise Archibald Gale and Alfred W. Gale, at rest, Friday, May 12, 2017. 

The last of a long line of a family descended from Samuel Gale Sr., who came here to fight in the American Revolution. As a result, he liked the area so much he brought his family to live here. 

Miss Gale's family ties were evident in Troy, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Emma Willard School, and Russell Sage College, all of which she attended. Jane worked in the chemistry department of RPI, and loved to travel, going abroad four times to Europe. Also she was a member of The Troy Country Club, the old Troy Club, Republican Woman's Club, and the Illium Literary Club. Her love of music was evident when she played the piano or violin. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church State and Third Streets Troy with Rev. Michael Gorchov, Rector, officiating.

Private entombment in the Gale Mausoleum in  Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
