James J. Thomas, 47

Averill Park - James J. Thomas, 47, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.

Born in Albany, he was the son of William C. Thomas of Troy and the late Phyllis (Casey) Thomas and husband of Betty P. Brennan Thomas.

He was raised in Albany and resided in Averill Park for the past 14 years and was educated at Junior College of Albany and earned his Masters in Public Health from the State University of New York at Albany.

Jim was employed as a an academic advisor for the Economic Opportunities Program of SUNY for the past 7 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife and father include three step children, Airman Jared Basolt, Jacob Basolt and Jennifer Basolt all of Averill Park; a sister, Theresa McCarthy (William) of Nassau and two brothers, William Thomas (Elaine) of Virginia and Casey Thomas (Jessica) of Averill Park.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the House of Praise Ministries 1688 Route 9 Castleton with Pastor Lon Dean, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH Wednesday from 4-7 PM prior to the service.
