James T. Sullivan, 80

Brunswick - James T. Sullivan, 80, of Pinewoods Avenue died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Schenectady, he was son of the late James J. Sullivan and Dorothy Machold Sullivan and husband for 55 years of Sheila Miller Sullivan. He was raised in Schenectady and had resided in Brunswick since 1961. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Mr. Sullivan was a consumer relations representative for Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 36 years, retiring in 1994. He previously worked for General Electric Company.

He was a member of Troy Pistol Club, Brunswick Lodge of Elks, Niagara Mohawk Retirees Club and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Jim enjoyed boating on Lake George for over 30 years. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Japan.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, James I. (Theresa) Sullivan, Brunswick and Jeffrey R. (Mark Heidorn) Sullivan, Albany; a daughter, Pamela (James) Pultorak, Liverpool, NY; a sister, Marlene (Ronald) St. Mary, West Palm Beach, FL; a sister-in-law, Lynne Miller, East Thetford, VT; a daughter-in-law - Wendy Sullivan, New Rochelle, NY; seven grandchildren, James I. Sullivan II, Cassie Powell, Haley Sullivan, Cynthia (Jason) Allen, Stephanie (Jon) Graves, Jennifer Pultorak and Jaimee (Chris Knowlton) Pultorak; four great grandchildren, Alyssa and Gavin Allen, Isabella Knowlton and Violet Graves and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday from 10AM-12 Noon with a funeral to follow at Noon by Rev. James J. Vaughan, officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of James T. Sullivan to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144.
