Irene M. Scovill Urgento Alleca

Rensselaer - Irene M. Scovill Urgento Alleca, 82, of St. Anthony Lane Rensselaer and formerly of West Sand Lake died Tuesday, April 07, 2009, at her residence after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late Wallace G Scovill and Marie Kircher Scovill and beloved and devoted wife for 42 years of Joseph S. Alleca. She had resided in West Sand Lake most of her life, moving to Rensselaer 4 years ago, attended Averill Park schools and was a graduate of Cologna Beauty School in Albany.

Mrs. Alleca was employed at Albany Hardware and Iron and Montgomery Ward prior to opening her own beauty salon in West Sand Lake over 45 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. She loved doing ceramics, sewing, cooking, baking, bingo and traveling, especially to the casinos and on cruises. Irene had a great love for warm hospitality and a deep love for her family.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving family; daughter, Vickie M. Richeson of Mechanicville; grandson, Kenneth E. Richeson of Rensselaer; great granddaughter, Cassandra C. Richeson of Rensselaer; granddaughter, Deborah M. (Joseph J.) La Due of Nassau; great grandchildren, Alexandra F., Jack A. and Ella G. La Due; granddaughter, Cindy L. O'Brien; son, Dennis R. (Sharon R. Butterfield) Urgento of Southport, NC; grandchildren, Stacey R. Urgento of Scranton, PA and Ryan D. Urgento of Hermosa Beach, CA and son, Eugene J. (Barbara J. Beck) Urgento of West Sand Lake; grandson Zachary J.A. (Bethany S. Weismantel) Urgento of Delmar; great grandson, Christopher J.A. Urgento; grandson, Gabriel J.W. Urgento of West Sand Lake; a brother, Ernest 'Skip' N. (Dorinda) Scovill of Englewood, FL; a sister-in-law, Virginia E. Scovill of West Sand Lake; two nieces, Patricia Coons and Joan S. Mack; a nephew, Scott Scovill and several additional nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Scovill.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the St. Henry's Church Old Route 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Provost , Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 4-7:30 PM.

Interment will be in St. Henry's Cemetery Averill Park.
