Helenmarie Kelly Murphy, 79

Troy Helenmarie Kelly Murphy, 79, of Fifteenth Street, died Monday, September 16, 2002, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late John J. Kelly Sr. and Helen F. Maloney Kelly and wife for 52 years of Philip P. Murphy. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and New York State Teachers College, now S.U.N.Y. at Albany.

Mrs. Murphy was a teacher in the business department at Troy High School for 42 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers, American Federation of Teachers and a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Troy.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Ellen M. Wilson and husband Haldane of Burnt Hills; a son, Philip J. Murphy and wife Gillian of Wilton; a brother, John J. Kelly Jr. and wife Marion of Troy; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Katherine Wilson and Conor, Neil and Fiona Murphy and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue Troy and at 9:30am from St. Paul the Apostle Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
