Wynantskill - Helen Ramroth Willson, of Wynantskill, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, August 1, 2015 with her loving daughters by her side.
Born in Troy, Helen was the daughter of the late Lawrence Ramroth and Rose Frenchett Ramroth, and wife for 63years of the late John Warren Willson. She was born in South Troy, but lived most of her life in Wynantskill. Helen was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. She received her Bachelor and Master's degree from the NYS College for Teachers in Albany and was a member of Chi Sigma Theta Sorority.
Helen was a teacher for the Wynantskill Central School District for over 20 years. She retired from teaching in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Helen enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape Cod. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include: three daughters, Marie Ference, Nancy (Eric) Jackson, and Susan (Mike) Barth, and her sister, Marilyn (Bill) Meyer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Beth (Brian) Bacon, Erin (Joel) Bancroft, Amy, Laura and Joseph Ference, and Dan and Drew Barth, and great grandchild Henry Bacon.
A very special thank you to Roberta, Jane, Jenny, Susan, Denise, Barbara, and her nurse Karen for taking such good care of Helen.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy, on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 4-7 PM.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill.
Interment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, on Monday at 12:30PM.
