Helen Sarah (Brower) Kane

North Greenbush - Helen Sarah Brower Kane, 92, of Blooming Grove Drive died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late George Haxton Brower and Florence DeLong Brower and wife of the late Patrick Joseph Kane Jr. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. 

Mrs. Kane was a sales person at the former Up To Date Shop in Troy many years ago and a homemaker for many years.  

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Troy Lodge of Elks and a former communicant of St. Mary's Church in Troy.  She enjoyed being a homemaker, a grandmother and doing crafts.    

Survivors include her children, Susan (Martin) Gibbons, Averill Park, Patrick Joseph Kane III, Troy and Kathleen Ann (Robert) Schmidt, Brunswick; a daughter-in-law, Karen Kane, North Greenbush; a brother, James (Patricia) Brower, Latham; her grandchildren, Kelly Wood, Patricia Sawyer,  Martin Gibbons, Jr., Kristin O'Brien, Sarah Colwill, Timothy Kane, Jr., Jamie Eames and Julie Schmidt and 10 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Timothy R. Kane and a daughter-in-law, Kimberley Kane.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday from 3-6PM. 

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at the  funeral home with Rev. Thomas Holmes, officiating.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
